By Dapo Akinrefon
Skillet YORUBA socio-political association, Afenifere, has blamed comments made by previous legislative head of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso, who supposedly defended the exercises of Fulani herders in the South West.
Representative Kwakwanso had said throughout the weekend that "the issue of contention between the ranchers and Fulani herders is not regular toward the South west alone. It is not by any means regular to Nigeria. It is everywhere throughout the sub district.

In an announcement, Afenifere's attention secretary, Mr. Yinka Odumakin said "In a replay of the ignoble scene of 2000 when Arewa pioneers impolitely raged the workplace of then Oyo state representative, Alhaji Lam Adesina in the interest of roaming cows rearers, previous Kano state senator and serving Senator, Rabiu Kwakwanso accompanied verbal knifes to the same city at the weekend soliciting the age mates from his dad to "quiets down."
As per him, it is another pitiful day for the conflict of human advancements inside of the Lugard confine when a man who has involved every one of the workplaces Kwakwanso has held, opens his mouth in an individuals' area and all he spews make audience members to mistake him for a herder or Boko Haram chieftain."
The announcement peruses: "Kwankwaso's grouse with Yoruba pioneers was our require a conclusion to the criminal exercises of Fulani herders in the area at the late summit in Ibadan and that the Yoruba country may rethink its place in a union that couldn't secure us and would not permit us to ensure ourselves on the off chance that we didn't see any sign to rebuild Nigeria into a legitimate alliance.
"The revelation is not anyplace close to the announcement of Gen Yakubu Gowon on August 3 1966: "there is no premise for Nigerian solidarity, which has been so severely shaken once as well as a few times." or the subject of the North's reprisal overthrow of July 29,1967 titled ARABA, a Hausa word signifying "let us partition it".
Also, Afenifere said "In all his ramblings in Ibadan, Kwakwanso did not denounce the snatching of Chief Olu Falae, the murdering of honest agriculturists, assaulting of ladies and pulverization of products and farmlands throughout the touching exercises of Fulani herders. He just implicitly supported their exercises by offering reasons for their criminal behaviors."
"The issue that we are discussing, instruction is essential. On the off chance that all Fulani are offered chance to go to class, I don't think they will hazard their lives and their creatures going into the bramble, where there are reptiles. I think the key thing is instruction.
"Kwakwanso needs Yoruba "comprehension of the circumstance" while his family keep on drawing their blood, damaging their ladies and annihilating their farmlands until Mallam chooses to give them training may be the point at which we celebrate another century.
"The twofold talk about Kwakwanso is rankling as he was a couple of months prior commending the swarms of Almajiris in the north as a positive advancement that gives a demography that could without much of a stretch be crowded for discretionary procedure.
"Rabiu Kwakwanso in a meeting he conceded Vanguard Newspaper on April 26,2015, attacked the wife of previous President of Nigeria for "annoying" the north over the hazard of Almajiri youngsters which he considered a thing of "pride," saying, "Take a gander at what the wife of the President said in regards to us-northerners. She was simply chastising the North very nearly at each open door. You can't affront us and imagine that you can escape with it. This vote based system is a session of numbers, and that is the reason we did a reversal and set up almajiris together to get around two million votes.
"The issue of almajiris have been opened to manhandle in this nation and transformed into put-down for us. Almajiri here is a positive word however the way they see it is that we are bums, that we create such a large number of youngsters that we can't deal with, and that is the thing that the First Lady was stating and we stayed silent in light of the fact that we had our own particular manner of noting her and we did precisely that on the 28th of March."
"Kwankwanso further said that the Fulani ought to be given the chance to go to class as though the Yoruba were the ones who denied them such open door in very nearly 40 years that the north has held force since autonomy.
"With the tactless, inconsiderate and heartless comments of Kwankwaso and his kind in the North which are similar to pouring salt on harm, it is coming clear to us that there may be a fantastic plan with the exercises of the Fulani herders either as a development gathering of Boko Haram into our domain or an expansionist venture.
"The Yoruba pioneers along these lines stand by each word in the Ibadan revelation," said Odumakin.
